As a prairie boy, I have often found that prairie issues are given short shrift. I always wanted to read a book about the plight of farmers. When I saw Ingeborg Boyen’s column in the Winnipeg Free Press on that exact subject, I was in touch with her. Ingeborg wrote a book that is at once incisive, passionate and powerful, and showcases her reporting prowess. So much so, it won the National Business Book Award, thanks, I discovered later, to the championing of Pamela Wallin.
